Board & Train

Why Tails N’ Trails
Board & Train?
Your pet doesn't need a trip to the kennel for training. Your pet needs to "train in a home" to "live in a home" with rules and manners. Tails N’ Trails gets better results than a facility board and train because your pets daily life is richer in a home setting. Whether you need the most basic training package or need a more intense training to combat reactivity, guarding, aggression or incessant barking. We are the home school for your pet. Throughout your pet’s board and train you will be kept updated on your pet’s daily growth. You’ll receive daily pictures and videos, weekly written reports, and a two hour drop-off lesson with David. Your board and train with Tails N’ Trails will provide you with the tools you need for strong communication and a healthy relationship with your pet.

About Our Trainer,
David Talbot
David is a seasoned dog trainer with over 20 years of experience working with dogs of all breeds and temperaments. His passion for training began in childhood, growing up with two trainer parents—his mother trained Collies for show, and his father specialized in hounds. Through daily care and interaction, David developed a deep connection with animals that naturally evolved into a lifelong vocation.
He began his formal education with the Pet Care Services Association, earning certifications in pet CPR and basic pet care, and later completed a program in Canine Obedience Training and Instruction through Penn Foster in 2008. Over the years, David has gained extensive hands-on experience in daycare, pet sitting, walking, hiking, and especially in dog training, both in group classes and in-home settings.
David specializes in everything from puppy training and basic obedience to working with reactive and aggressive behaviors. As the former Head Trainer at JM Pet Resort in Brockton, he was responsible for developing training programs, overseeing the daily progress of over 20 board-and-train dogs, and mentoring fellow staff members toward certification as professional dog trainers.
Today, David not only trains dogs but also empowers like-minded, dog-loving individuals to become trainers themselves. He is married to a fellow trainer who specializes in puppy behavior, and together, they view every pet they work with as family.
David is committed to helping pet parents build happy, healthy relationships with their dogs—and he looks forward to being part of each pet’s journey.
